DIY Halloween Bowl
Following on from our last blog post, you will now have made your Halloween treat bags and need somewhere to display them for trick or treaters to help themselves.
Rather than buying a Halloween Candy Bowl why not just make your own out of a fruit basket. After Halloween is over, you can easily pack away your decorations for reuse next year and go back to using the basket to store your produce. In this post we explore ideas on how to decorate your fruit bowl to create the perfect ‘help yourself’ candy bowl.
Large spider candy bowl
You will need:
- Fruit basket
- Extra thick pipe cleaners
- Double sided sticky tape
- Giant googly eyes
- Plain white muslin cloth
- Candies or treat bags
How to make:
- Add double sided sticky tape to the back of your googly eyes.
- Position on your fruit bowl to make your spider face.
- Take a pipe cleaner, attach it to the fruit bowl by twisting the end of it around the top edge.
- Make the spider leg shape by bending the pipe cleaner up slightly and then down to towards the bottom of the bowl, curve the end up slightly.
- Repeat for the other 7 legs.
- Make sure to position them with 4 legs on one side of your bowl and 4 on the other side.
- To fill basket with loose candies, simply lay muslin cloth in the basket.
- Alternatively, fill basket with the treat bags you prepared earlier following our last blog post.
You can also decorate the bowl with smaller spiders. Here's a tutorial of how to make small spiders.
